I went out last night to celebrate Perry’s birthday… little guy is 25 today. Gary came up, Andrew and Bill came over and Jay met us out. Man did we have a good time. We just drank beers, shots and anything else we could at Ocally’s. Of course, no Gary trip to rochester is complete without a trash plate… or sloppy plate at marks texas hots. It was only the next morning that I informed Gary of the shooting that happened at Marks. Best to keep that info off the radar.

I’m taking a fundamentals course at Crossfit Rochester So far I’ve covered the deadlift, the squat and the shoulder press. I’m basically paying to learn the proper ways to lift. As to if I’ll actually join the gym, I’m not quite sure as its kinda three times as much as I’m paying now where I can just follow along with the WOD from the main Crossfit Website

Of course I’m all sorts of hungover from last night so todays workout might not be the best.

Lets give three cheers for the Wire being back on HBO tonight along with American Gladiators…. and playoffs….

God I love Playoffs.

The house is kinda clean now from the party.  By that I mean, I’m sure I’ll find random bottle caps around the house, but the majority of the garbage has been removed and the dishes have been cleaned.  Well almost all of them.  It was different to have an adult party.  No one got sick, no one was an asshole, nothing was broken accept a glass when I was cleaning this morning.  There were a few people who slept on the couch, but only because they were to drunk to drive home.  We had a shit load of food, people brought a lot of booze and it was a damn good time.  We did jager bombs cause we bathe in that shit.  It was a good way to ring in the new year…with friends instead of randoms at a bar.  It was different but very good.

-Christmas was good. I spent the time at my parents house with my brother, godmother and aunt and uncle. We had a standing rib roast that at raw weight was 12 pounds.

-I now own a Global Santuko Knife
-I also own a Wusthof Paring Knife

-In non cooking news I received a Shure SM57 Mic
-This Collection of music has been in the car and has propelled me to great speeds while driving

I went out last night and it was the first time in a month that I didn’t have to work the next day. It was amazing.

today shall consist of shopping and cleaning and perchance the making of gloog

1)I haven’t seen the sun in like three days

2)The Bills lost

3)I  think I’m going to try and make my own batch of Glogg.  I just need to get all of the ingredients.  Does anyone have a couple pints of everclear they want to donate?  I also need two quarts of brandy and a gallon of port.

4)You can read http://brotherstrout.blogspot.com for all of your sports related commentary.  This of course comes from two men who’s father never watched sports so everything we learned is all on our own….and our mother who loves football and baseball but doesn’t really understand the finer nuances of either sport…just blind allegiance which is all you really need to be a sports fan anyways.

1)I had a dream last night that I was in some sort of battle and I was using a butchers knife (the big curved ones for cutting roasts) as my only weapon.  Sometimes I would hit people and not hurt them, and sometimes I would cut people easily.  I was cut in the forehead (opposite side of where Scott hit me in the head with a golf club) and in the ear (insert fight club joke here)  The forehead wound didn’t bleed, but I could see my skull.  I went to work the next day in my dream with a huge gash in my forehead and stitches.  No one said a word.

2)Darts last night was a huge pain in the ass. We played at T-Foots in fairport which is a huge townie bar.  Carhart jackets were the standard uniform.  The bartender was from wayne central (Julie Doyle ‘01)  and the beers were in plastic cups.  The dart board kept fucking up and not recording scores, and eventually, it wouldn’t even work.  We called the vending company, and they told one guy over the phone how to reset it.  The board worked for another ten minutes and then it froze again.  I called the vendor up and got him to give us a free game at another bar.  The bar we went to was tailgaiters which was awesome.  New everything, good beer, our money was refunded for darts, we won a game of cricket (by that I mean my brother and I owned and shot above a 2.50 mpr and I closed out with three straight bulls… a personal first)

So lets recap…..weird dreams, t-foots bad, tailgaitors….good.

Friday night was an awesome night.  Bill, Andrew and I went out to Ocally’s and just sat there and drank beers at the bar.  We did to many jager bombs.  We were loud.  We hit on women with abandon.  We were there from 10 till 2am.  I loved every moment of it.    It also marks that last weekend day that I will have off until after christmas.

Band practice was really good.  We played well, and recorded a song, and worked on two others.  Live was the correct purchase.  Tomorrow will consist of christmas shopping and relaxing along with like 5 loads of laundry

I am listening to a compilation on John Peel Festive Fifty radio broadcasts.  First of all…what a lot of good music that I’ve never been exposed to.

Second…. When I was a young teenager, my cousin Anne made me a mix tape of everything she thought was cool.  It had such wonderful songs as Anarchy in the USA by the sex pistols, High Ground, the Red Hot Chili Peppers cover of the Stevie Wonder song and a couple of Billy Bragg songs.  I thought I would never hear these songs again until I stumbled upon Mr. Braggs music.  Here is one song that I just loved.
I was a miner
I was a docker
I was a railway man
Between the wars
I raised a family
In times of austerity
With sweat at the foundry
Between the wars

I paid the union and as times got harder
I looked to the government to help the working man
And they brought prosperity down at the armoury
“We’re arming for peace me boys”
Between the wars

I kept the faith and I kept voting
Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand
For theirs is a land with a wall around it
And mine is a faith in my fellow man
Theirs is a land of hope and glory
Mine is the green field and the factory floor
Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers
And mine is the peace we knew
Between the wars

Call up the craftsmen
Bring me the draughtsmen
Build me a path from cradle to grave
And I’ll give my consent
To any government
That does not deny a man a living wage

Go find the young men never to fight again
Bring up the banners from the days gone by
Sweet moderation
Heart of this nation
Desert us not, we are
Between the wars

The song is titled Between the wars came out in 1985.  Still relevant today.  So I leave you with that little diddy.

1)I can eat an entire box of mac and cheese when I come home a little loaded from darts.

2)I won another game at darts and my team won three total, including the first two (one by me and then followed by my bothers first game).  I feel that I need to get better at cricket though.  This is where my weakness lies.

1)Thanksgiving was pretty good.  My Aunt Linda cooked a pretty good meal.  My expectations were low and I left happy, so what does that tell you people.  Aim low and leave happy.  I can’t remember who said it (he was greek and pre jesus), but the quote will be paraphrased as “Being unhappy comes from expecting what cannot be done or achieved”  Leave it to the greeks to figure this stuff out.

2)I received and A in my Nutrition and Diet class at RIT.  I found this out at around one am on Wed. evening so of course there was much running around.  I’m taking another class after the holidays so look out second degree…. here I come.  Not really cause I’m refusing any more debt in my life.  But one class at a time can’t hurt.

3)My second thanksgiving at home was amazing.  Mom made a huge meal, and then packed up all these leftovers in tupperware and sent me on my way.  Awesome gravy mom if you’ve somehow found this site due to the power of the internets and google.

4)I have to goto traffic court due to a little incident I had last month.  So I’m gonna go shopping at the mall for christmas gifts and to court.  With some B&N time in there as well.
